We have added a new Jewelry Line!
2008 will be a very exciting year for us. Carol is currently exhibiting in NY at both 6512.

This is a bold new look for us as featuring natural river stones set in Sterling. It was inspired by our trip to Maine last summer. Our daughter, Rowan attended mountain climbing school and while she was there we toured up and down the coast. We spent hours hiking the cliffs and walking the beach where we were captivated by the stones.
Our site has also been updated with our new Seaglass styles for 2008. We have added more designs this year than ever before.

We have a last minute change that didn’t make it to the catalog. In response to higher silver costs we have brought back our Seaglass Charm bracelet in Nickel silver. This piece was a strong seller for 15 years and we expect it to hit an ideal price point this year. You may see it here:

May Price Increase
We are forced to raise our prices to meet the raising cost of Silver. The price increase will go into effect on May 1st. Any orders received before that date for immediate shipment will be at the old prices.
Our first price increase was due to the fact that the cost of Sterling had almost doubled from 2005 to January 2006. This was largely due to rising cost of energy, which effected every phase of Sterling production -- from the mining to the refining and ultimately to the finished piece. Since the end of January, Sterling has had an additional 30% increase. Several factors keep driving Sterling up. One is continued energy increases. The other is that ALL the Precious metals, Gold Silver and Platinum are setting record highs. The metals market moves partially from speculation, but also as a hedge against inflation. When the Federal Reserve fears inflation and raises rates, the metals market moves up accordingly. In addition to the raw cost of Sterling, a premium is paid to have it drawn into wire or into casting silver. On top of that cost, our suppliers add their own manufacturing costs.
For almost 20 years we have always used the same formula to price our jewelry. We are constantly the best value in Seaglass Jewelry and the most original and artistic. Should the market ever recede, we will offer you a price decrease. Many of our peers are adding a Silver surcharge. We feel that we can best serve you by giving you an exact cost per piece - partly because the cost of glass rose marginally compared to Silver. So, if we just added a surcharge, pieces with less Silver and more glass would be charged at a higher rate. Additionally, by knowing the exact cost, you can better figure your own Cost of Goods Sold and your profits. We feel it very sneaky to say a piece costs one price, but then tack on a surcharge on the bottom of the invoice.
How to Sell Silver in a Raising Market
First don’t panic! This is a situation that effects everyone - your fellow storeowners, other artists and the end consumer. We are also lucky that we are selling Sterling, as Gold is out of sight. Remember, people are still going to be buying gifts and souvenirs. We are ideally positioned to attract the consumer who can no longer afford Gold. These people will be searching for a unique product and we are ideally suited for them. Color Sells and we are color. Seaglass is a touchable gem and has timeless allure.

Atlanta Gift show 2006
We are once again appearing at the Atlanta Gift Show. Starting on January 13, you may find Carol in booth 2810. We are also pleased that her mother, Geri, after along illness will once again be with her. We thank you all for all of your kind thoughts.
Show special -- We are keeping our prices as listed in the catalog. I know that sounds strange, and we should have realized when our Sushi restaurant raised prices, but ...
Seriously the price of sterling has doubled in the last year, with most of the increase coming after our catalog was published. The cost of energy has effected mining, production and the commodity markets. Accordingly we are forced to raise our prices across the board. Final prices will bet set next week.
We will be honoring the old prices for orders written during the show that ship before April 1st.

Upcoming 2005 shows
We know all of you are in the midst of the holiday rush. We are already preparing for next year. We will close on December 15th until January 3rd. Our first trade show this year is the Surf Expo show in Orlando, January 7-10, we will be in booth #1142. Stop by and you can see both Mark and Carol.
The Atlanta Gift Show immediately follows on January 14th – 18th. Carol and her Mom will be manning booth #2-812.
